Homeland - The Ornate Germanic Cup in Düring's Hideaway
In Series five, episode 7 of Homeland , 'Oriole' Carrie played by Claire Danes is given a cup of midnight coffee by her boss During played by Sebastian Koch. During tells Carrie that 'sleep is overrated' and that she should have some coffee despite the lateness of the hour. The cup is a beautifully ornate with a golden bottom rimmed base. The handle is midnight blue and slightly darker than the open gauze pattern that is blue with flashes of gold. The cup is very decadent and mirrors the class and wealth of During. Carrie is not from a 'money background' and shows it by not drinking from the cup in a conventional way. The cup does have a rather large white saucer.
